(Woot reproduced with kind permission from the very awesome and lovely Steve Ince.)There are a number of reasons for the WOOT and I have been waiting till I can share them all to do this post since I don't want to wear out the Woot. So it's a three parter and please do read all of them. I am really honoured and excited at the moment and keep expecting someone to realise how much fun i'm having and put a stop to it. *grin*

First of all, Angry Robot are keeping things interesting while they settle into their new home and publishing group by inviting a number of bloggers to guest post. I filled the first slot with "bringing magic into the present" where I talk about the stigma of being a fantasy fan and whether recent trends may change that. I was delighted to be asked and huge thanks to the AR guys for having me over it was really fin to be an Angry Robot for a day. They are a publisher I adore for their cross genre approach and the fact that they are local, just up the road from me really in Nottingham.
The very next day, my interview with Nottinghams community journalism paper Left Lion was posted on their w
ebsite. This is a preamble to two things. One is that I am now a reviewer for Left Lion so look out for 150 word genre reviews with my name on in the paper and longer reviews and interviews on the website in the future. I am really very excited to be a small part of this awesome local team. The thing I have been waiting for the all clear to spill and holding the Woot in store for, I
am now also doing audio reviews for Escape Pod. For those of you not familiar with this (?!) brilliant podcast Escape Pod (along with PodCastle and PseudoPod) provide genre short stories, interviews and occasional reviews in an audio format. My first review will be Wolfsangel by MdLachlan and up in early to mid June, followed a couple fo weeks later by my review of City of Ruin. Although I will post the reviews here along the way they will be shorter, so for the full picture i'd recommend heading over to escape pod. I will be posting the links up here when my reviews go live. Finally, I hope to see lots of yo
u at Alt.Fiction once I finally escape the Mac suite. I am spending most of the day podcasting round table discussions of Sci fi, fantasy, horror and dark fantasy, publishing and other aspects of our awesome genre world. It's going to be a really fantastic event, 12th June in Derby at the Quad. The line up of guests is wonderful and I am about bursting with joy to be a part of it. It's a real pleasure to be part of this lovely team. If you don't come you are really missing out but book soon because tickets are selling well.

Fantasy fans are way too cool to be stigmatized by anything. We should pity all the blind mundanes who believe they can really see.
