May / June roundup

Ok so here it is again, in case you missed anything over the last couple of months here are the highlights. I won't be listing every single post from the two months, but picking out some of the best ones.

Regular visitors know that Wednesday's are reserved for writers here, alternating between Ravenous Wednedsay and Vince's article and cover comics. Over the last two months we've had
Kilt Kilpatrick on character voices
Dawn Jackson on bad boys
Isabel Roman on being two
and Vanessa Vaughn on werewolves

Vince has harmed kumquats talking about structure , left the Froxteth Nebula open to interpretation, talked about footbal, marmosets and endings , and considered the thought processes while dealing with randomly assigned first and last lines.

Cover wise, because nothing is sacred here, City of Ruin by Mark Charan Newton , Blockade Billy by Stephen King , The Dark Storm by Kris Greene , Road to Nowhere by Christopher Pike.

Event wise we say Alt.Fiction come and go in a single crazy day. Three of us attended and covered it, we podcast from it and we did a post round up of other people's coverage, which is the best place to check out what everyone thought. You should also keep an eye on the Alt.Fiction website as the podcasts and panel recordings are starting to be released on Mondays.
Over the May/June period we also attended Short Fuse: On the Road , and the Alan Moore event Magus in post 1 & post 2.

For Writers Reading we were visited by Steve Ince and Joan De Lay Haye. This feature will be back in July with Andre Newbound.

For signings and events that we either attended or heard about check out our connections page, for additional articles visit the articles archive.

Keith joined unbound with an interview with F.Paul Wilson.

Reviews have seen MangaCat exploring Motomi Madness, I covered the brilliant Wolfsangel , Apartment 16 and City of Ruin, Stray looked at Absinthe and Flamethrowers, Chris V reviewed Riding toward Everywhere, Chris W came on board with the Lies of Locke Lamora , and Kerl gave us a three part breakdown of the Codex Alera series.Keith covered the return of the Pan Book of Horror. Check out our review archives.

Also right near the end of the month we have had an excellent guest post on crowdfunding by Suw.
